Botox Fillers

Botox Cosmetic

Whether you look tired, need a quick refresher, are troubled by crow’s feet or have deep furrow lines and wrinkles, BOTOX® Cosmetic might be the solution for you. BOTOX® is a highly purified protein injected into the skin to relax the muscles that cause some kinds of wrinkles.

While BOTOX® can treat certain medical conditions, such as excessive sweating, it is most commonly used for cosmetic purposes, primarily to reduce wrinkles on the face and neck. BOTOX® injections are relatively painless, as the needle used is significantly smaller than those used for other injectable fillers. A quick BOTOX® treatment can help reverse the signs of aging and provide subtle and natural facial contouring. The best candidates for BOTOX® are men and women seeking an enhanced appearance with fewer wrinkles.

BOTOX® injections are administered by a qualified physician using a very fine needle. Injections are generally made around the eyes (often called crow’s feet), between the brows and in the forehead. The procedure only takes a few minutes and requires no anesthetic. Day-to-day activities can be resumed immediately afterwards. Wrinkles begin to fade within 24 hours, with continued improvement over the next 5 days. The benefits of BOTOX® typically last for three to four months.

Results of BOTOX®
Results of your BOTOX® treatment depend greatly on the injector’s experience, techniques and artistic eye. Many people who have been treated with BOTOX® and have a frozen or unnatural look were most likely not treated properly. When treated correctly, no one should be able to tell that you had BOTOX®. Dr. Steinberg is especially qualified to perform BOTOX® treatments, as ophthalmologists have used this product for many years before

Side effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic are rare and are usually mild and temporary. The most common side effects are headaches and temporary redness or bruising of the skin at the site of injection. By choosing Dr. Steinberg, you will be assured you are receiving the highest in quality and care.

Latisse

Latisse 1

Women have long been striving to turn their short, skimpy lashes into the likes of Cleopatra’s. Mascaras claiming to thicken, lengthen and add some glamour to lashes are constantly being brought onto the market, but mostly with lackluster results.

Full, natural-looking eyelashes can now be achieved through a prescription treatment called Latisse®. Latisse is the first and only eyelash treatment approved by the FDA to help grow longer, fuller and darker eyelashes and treat hypotrichosis, a condition that includes having inadequate or not enough eyelashes.

Latisse contains bimatoprost, an active ingredient that improves the appearance of your lashes and is often found in glaucoma medication. Latisse is believed to work by not only extending the length of the growth phase of the eyelash, but by increasing the quantity of lashes grown as well, leaving you with longer, thicker and darker lashes.

This prescription medication is applied topically to the base of the eyelashes once a day, after makeup and contact lenses have been removed and any other skincare products have already been applied. While it does not replace mascara, Latisse offers an attractive complement to help further enhance full, long and beautiful lashes.

Results of Latisse
The results of Latisse are visible after 4 weeks, with full results appearing after 16 weeks. You can track the progress of your results through photographs. Side effects of Latisse are rare but may include itching, redness or dryness in the eye area. You should not use Latisse if you have an active eye infection or broken skin or irritated skin on the eyelid. Call your doctor today to find out if Latisse is right for you.

Fillers

When you smile, laugh, frown, or look puzzled, you contract the muscles of your face. Over time, these contractions produce permanent furrows and deep wrinkles in the skin, especially around the eyes and mouth, between the eyebrows, and on the forehead. These lines can make you look older, sad, angry or tired. Facial fillers can not only prevent you from deepening these lines during natural facial movements, they can also erase these marks of aging, leaving you looking younger and refreshed.

Facial fillers are FDA-approved and safe for use by most patients. Many of the fillers are made from substances found naturally in the body, or synthetically made to mimic natural substances or stimulate collagen production. The most popular is fillers made of hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the skin but tends to decrease as we age. When injected into the skin, hyaluronic acid attracts water to the site, resulting in a look that is soft and natural.

How It Works
These fillers are injected directly into the skin of the targeted area to restore volume and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, most often targeting lines around the mouth, sagging cheek bones and thin lips, among other concerns. They can be performed in the office with little to no downtime and without the expense associated with surgery. Dr. Steinberg offers patients several different soft tissue filler options in order to provide the best possible results for their individual needs, including:

  • Juvéderm® Injectable Gel
  • Radiesse®
  • Restylane®

While fillers are a safe solution for someone wanting to “freshen” their look, the outcome greatly depends on the experience and skill of the injector. It is important to make sure the person providing your treatment has been properly trained and has experience treating the desired area. Dr. Steinberg’s expert knowledge of facial symmetry and balance allow them to produce natural, youthful results.

Opus Plasma

Opus Plasma®

A cutting-edge, modern aesthetic platform, new Alma Opus is a high-frequency, unipolar, radiofrequency (RF) technology and the first of its kind. Surpassing the capabilities of the fractional resurfacing lasers of the past, Opus is turning the page for energy-based applications and bridging the gap between skin rejuvenation and an improved overall appearance. As an RF microplasma device, Opus allows for superior customization, permitting the technician to tailor the patient’s results to their needs and aesthetic goals.

Is Opus similar to skin resurfacing?

Yes and no. Opus is an RF microplasma procedure that gently creates micro-injuries similar to RF microneedling while emitting unipolar radiofrequency energy. The technology is so diverse that it can replicate the results of a gentle chemical peel or the intensity of an aggressive CO2 resurfacing procedure, depending on the patient’s needs.

Will there be a long recovery period after treatment?

Because Opus is so customizable, any associated recovery times will depend on the level of treatment provided by your technician. However, we are finding that potential risks and implications associated with Opus are significantly fewer and more minor than other comparable technological platforms and aesthetic procedures.

How many sessions will I need?

The precise number of sessions you will need for your desired results depends on the treatment plan created by your provider. But in many cases, patients attain impressive results with as little as one session. Your Opus treatment plan will be created following a consultation with a member of our practice to determine the number of sessions you will need for optimal results.

What types of results will I see?

Opus is primarily used for skin tightening and skin resurfacing. Depending on your individual needs and your specific treatment plan, you could attain firmer facial skin, a clearer, more radiant complexion, youthful-looking and feeling skin, and a rested overall appearance.
