Botox is best known for temporarily smoothing out facial lines and wrinkles, including crow's feet, frown lines, and forehead wrinkles.

Dr. Steinberg specializes in eye and facial anatomy and symmetry. In addition to providing comprehensive eye care, she also offers aesthetic treatments like Botox injections.

At her practice, she uses BOTOX® Cosmetic and Xeomin®, two brands of Botox.

What happens during Botox injections?

Dr. Steinberg takes a personalized approach to care and customizes your Botox treatment plan at your initial consultation. She reviews the details with you, so you know what to expect.

Botox injections only take a few minutes and require no anesthetics. Dr. Steinberg expertly and carefully injects Botox around the eyes, in between the brows, and in the forehead.

The neurotoxin in Botox works by addressing the underlying cause of these wrinkles, your facial muscles. The injection temporarily relaxes your facial muscles, stopping the movement that creases the skin, creating lines and wrinkles.

What happens after Botox injections?

You can resume most of your usual activities after your Botox injections. However, Dr. Steinberg may recommend you hold off on any strenuous physical activity for at least two hours to reduce the risk of bruising.

Your wrinkles begin to fade about 24 hours after your injections, with continued improvement over the next five days. Your results should last 3-4 months.

Dr. Steinberg recommends you schedule your next Botox session when you notice a return of your lines and wrinkles. Regular injections keep you looking young, prevent new lines from forming, and weaken the facial muscles, prolonging the results.

Dr. Steinberg also offers facial fillers, which are cosmetic injections that restore volume, smoothing out the lines and wrinkles that occur from facial sagging.

During an aesthetic consultation, Dr. Steinberg may suggest combining Botox with facial fillers to get the results you want.
